I wanted some feedback on my tattoo design. I play piano and clarinet so I wanted to incorporate both.
I designed and drew this myself....only used Photoshop to clean up some edges. Music has some really pretty and artistic symbols, so it was fun to "doodle" until I came up with a design I really liked.

I don't want to hear any anti-tattoo propaganda...Obviously I have weighed the pros and cons of getting a tattoo and decided that it is definitely something I want to permanently brand myself with. This will be my second one...
The difference between someone with tattoos and someone without tattoos is that the person with tattoos doesn't care if you have any tattoos or not. :-)

Where are you going to put it? (Dare I ask!) I can't remember which came first, my tattoo or the place where it belongs...so context is important.

Not talking from personal experience here as I haven't got any tattoos (though I do have five titanium hoops in my left ear), but after you have this one done, will that be it or do you reckon you'll have more done?

I like it and think is pretty cool. The only thing I don't like is symbol between the Treble Clef and the Forte marking.

It is quite clearly drawn in the shape or silhouette of a clarinet. My only suggestion would be to make the "bell" wider (or with more flourish of size) or to slim down the top (especially the first treble symbol).
Along clarioman's idea: You might also replace that symbol with a bass clef.

It will be on my ankle (I think!). Exact placement and angle yet to be determined.
I hear they are quite addictive (this is my second in as many years) so I wouldn't rule out a third when the perfect idea hits me!
The "symbol" between the Treble and the F-hole is supposed to be the tail of the Treble Clef. I wanted these symbols to be true to form, but I like swirlies and twirlies, so the Treble Clef is the only one I took the liberty of drawing decoratively.
Thanks for the suggestions...especially about the bell having more flare. I'm nitpicking myself now, and I realized I made the bell convex, where a real clarinet bell is concave, so I may do some adjustment on that one....

The bass clef is already incorporated and I happen to really like where it is...

If you like swirlies and twirlies I would suggest replacing the tail of the Treble Clef with a Turn or Grupetto, what ever you want to call it. It would have just about the same shape as the current symbol.

Yeah, but a Turn looks exactly like the f-hole, without the notches....
Hmmm.....
What about if I just connected the tail to the clef, make it a little shorter, and then add some small symbol between than at the f-hole?

Yikes Susieray! Nasubi77 has already played the "don't bother me with the anti-tattoo propoganda" card...
I'd be against color because the different inks fade at different rates (depending on how they take to your personal skin color in the first place). After a couple of years it can really show.
Mine still looks only a couple of years old.

Great for the all around music lover, my only concern is that a non-clarinetist may not be able to tell that that is a clarinet, but then again i don't know if that's what you want.
If i tattoo a huge Buffet logo on the front of my body and a buffet clarinet all along the back, could i get a sponsorship, or will they just send me a hat again? Not that I don't appreciate the hat.

Seems to me like the left side seems to be a lot "fatter" than the right. I agree with the poster above who stated that they should be thinned out somehow.
Alexi <- who has a clarinet-related tattoo on his body and is going to get a few bars of K622 as well, but needs to think out how to do it and save up some $$$ to do so

It's a nice drawing and incorporates many musical notations. The idea of having them form a clarinet is unique and visually appealing.
