One of the related performances that popped up on You Tube along with the "dueling bass clarinets" in a recent thread (Why don't they have that competition on "I Survived a Japanese Game Show"?) was a performance of part of Jonathan Russell's "Double Bass Clarinet Concerto," as in concerto for two bass clarinets. Russell is one of the members of Edmund Welles, the bass clarinet quartet that recently received raves for their performance at Clarinetfest in Kansas City. IMO, it's a very cool piece (and some interesting stuff at the beginning is cut from the You Tube version).
It turns out that Russell's website:
http://jonrussellmusic.com/JONCOM.htm
has quite a bit of music available on mp3 files in full performances for free download from his website, including a full performance of the Double Concerto, a "Concertino" for bass clarinet and orchestra, and works for solo bass clarinet, bass clarinet duo, bass clarinet quartet and clarinet quartet.
Quite a variety of styles. Check out Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in d Minor" arranged for two bass clarinets. It's amazing (to me, anyway) how much he and his partner get out of two bass clarinets.
Enjoy.
Best regards,
jnk
