Hello
Does anyone know a trill fingering from b'' to d'''? It's on the Clarinet 1 & 2 part on 'Paquito' by Andy Scott.
I've checked wfg.woodwind.org, Working Clarinetist (Hadcock), New Directions for Clarinet (Rehfeldt), etc. but can't find any fingerings. Unfortunately, I've lost my Alan Sim clarinet fingering book, so I haven't check that one out.

If you mean the first B and D above the staff, I've used the B fingering on the left hand, and trilled the throat A key with my right hand. I expect a public spanking for admitting this.

Thanks - I just tried it, not too bad, a bit too sharp...
But I cont'd experimenting, just realised I could overblow the open G and it gives me a D''' (sort of, its a bit too flat!).

B above the staff to D above the staff.
Use the fingering for normal middle C# and lift the left hand index finger to get B. From that, just lift the right hand middle , ring and pinky fingers to get D.

This usually is adequate:
If you overblow and tremolo the 4th line D5 to the 5th line F5, the resulting sound will be B5 to D6.
BTW - Your 'experiment' of playing the regular B5 and going up to D6 by overblowing an open G is the way this tremolo is usually suggested in texts. (ex: the passage in the Nielsen Concerto, seven measures after #2)

Hadcock suggests the above B to open G fingering for the passage in the Nielsen on p.197 of his book.

Overblowing the throat G is the commonly accepted way to do this. You may have to voice the D up a bit if you're playing it flat, just support and voice high. ESP www.peabody.jhu.edh/457 (Listen to a little Mozart, live recording)

On both my Buffets the open-G fingering for the D sounds awful, not just flat but with a different quality. I try to avoid it. Since it would only be for fast passages, changing the voicing seems at least as tricky as just using the normal fingering for D.
But thanks to skygardener for his suggestion, which I'll need to try as soon as I get home!

I find that altering the voicing of the note you're trilling to far easier than the finger gymnastics required of using the "real" fingerings.
Complete agreement with GBK and Ed above.
