The Clarinet BBoard

Hello,
I was wondering how to tell a B-flat from an A clarinet (Soprano). I know the A is taller than the B-flat (right??), but I am buying a clarinet from someone on e-bay and they don't know if it is a B-flat or an A. I tried the serial number but it is not in the Buffet db or whatever (I've come to find anything prior to the 70's is usually not in their db when you search the serial numbers). I believe the seller said it was 25" long (that's without mouthpiece).
Thanks for your help,
Claribari

Here's a more comprehensive serial number list which may help. But I'm not certain that it will provide the answers that you need.

You might have them send you a picture with the item in perspective, or specifically ask for a return policy based on whether the key of the instrument is not what you wanted.
The A clarinet is longer than a Bb clarinet. Is the case it comes in a single or a double case?
If you email me the link I would look at if for you...(have no fear...I don't need another clarinet right now!).

Whoops...just read your email in entirety.
25" is an A clarinet.
