I would like to program Saturn by Alan Hovhaness, but have a couple of questions. All I can find is a score with the clarinet part marked for "Clarinet in C." Does anyone know if there is a separate clarinet part and if so, is it transposed to Bb or is this indeed intended to be played on a "C clarinet?"

I have what I believe is the standard published version, by Edition Peters. It is sold as a score and a separate clarinet part that is in Bb. I believe I bought this at Jeanne, but likely available at other sources as well. Good luck!

It's a good piece but to long, it gets boring, too much of the same. I suggest you pick and choose the movements that you favor the most. Just my opinion. ESP www.peabody.jhu.edu/457 (Listen to a little Mozart, live recording)
