I have an Ernst Riedl clarinet pitched in concert C. It has only eleven keys and no rings. There is no serial number. Has anyone any idea how old it might be ?

Riedl, Ernst Karl (b c1896, d Winnenden 1967)
WWI fl Kraslice 1924-1945

An ex-bassoonist, earlier worked for V. Kohlert's Söhne; 1924 established independently; 1925 listing as specialist for Boehm clarinet, flute, piccolo, 1930 for flute, bassoon; after 1945, when his firm was nationalized, his instruments were stamped 'Kohlert'.

Thank you, Mark. Useful information. The design of the clarinet seems much older, like something from the mid nineteen hundreds. I guess Ernst was a little behind the times.
