I am wondering if anyone can point me to a clarinet instructor somewhere in the Denver / Colorado Springs area who would be willing to put up with a rather “senior” pupil who is attempting to renew his clarinet skills despite all the bad habits acquired over the past few decades but who, nevertheless, enjoys making (good) music and hopes to improve.
I don’t know if this is a proper posting and perhaps a private response would be most appropriate. My email address is: kennethmetz@cs.com
Thanks to all who respond.

Ken --
With gasoline already at $4 a gallon and going to go much higher, then depending on exactly where you live in the Denver / Springs area, you might wish to contact the clarinet faculty members in the music schools at DU (Denver), CU (Boulder), UNC (Greeley) or CC (Springs).
Note that while CSU (Ft Collins) is a fine university (some would say the best in the state), I don't believe that CSU has a music school. I could be wrong on that.
Some of these people accept private students other than those enrolled at their schools; some do not. I am confident that most if not all of them will be happy to assist you in finding a good fit with a good teacher.

you may want to contact April Johanneesen. She is the 2sd in the Ft. Collins sym, Brad Behn being the principal.
April teaches in the Longmont, Boulder, Loveland and Fort Collins areas. Her web indcates her rates/teaching methods, etc.
her web site is http://www.apriljohannesen.com/
her email is: distantvelvet@hotmail.com
If by some chance you are attending the clarfest in KC, she will be there as she assists So Rhee with the registration process.
hmmmmmmmm sorry I couldn't get the links to show in blue to click on

Many thanks to all who replied (either on this BBoard or privately) to my earlier inquiry. I now have a number of avenues to explore.
I should point out that I live in Franktown, about halfway between Denver and Colorado Springs, plus another 10 miles eastward, making travel to such places as Ft. Collins quite impractical. (For some unknown reason the BBoard shows my ISP, Qwest, located in Estes Park when it is actually based in Denver.)
Any other suggestions will be most welcome as I sort this all out.
Thanks again,
Ken Metz
