There is a moment in K622 where a violinist would almost certainly use 'small' semitones for expressive effect -- bars 150/1 of the first movement.

On the standard modern instrument we too can easily play the intervals D/C#, B/A#, G/F# 'small' by adding the Ab/Eb RH little finger key for a sharp C#, and then using just the RH rings to produce both sharp 'long' A# and sharp F#. The final D/C# has to be normal.

The effect has to be done subtly and tastefully -- you mustn't INSIST on the small interval -- but there's certainly an opportunity to enhance the rather 'naughty' quality of these bars.

On a period instrument, doing this sort of thing is a routine event -- indeed, the problem is rather the opposite one: namely, that of having acceptable equal-tempered fingerings.
