I can recall a Simeon Bellison LP that I had many long years ago. The highlight Bellison's arrangement of the Mozart Concerto Rondo. It had a super cadenza that Bellison performed with great panache!
So I was quite pleased to learn that M. Zukovsky and others had put out a CD of his clarinet arrangements. But on receiving the CD I'm surprised and annoyed to find that the Concerto Rondo not included.
It's by far his most interesting arrangement...'specially the fabulous cadenza! What were they thinking?
It does include the Beethoven Variations on a Theme by Mozart performed by Bellison so I suppose that's some comfort.

I saw this recently on the Summit records site. What are the tracks and performers? I could not tell from the listings who was performing. I am mostly interested in hearing Bellison. I had some of his recording on tape years ago and would love to have some performances again.

Bellison performs the Beethoven Variations and the Autumn Song.
All the tracks are listed on the Van Cott site. Michele and her father do the other tracks...it's a must have CD for clarinetists. I wish they had included the Bellison Mozart Concerto Rondo arrangement recording, it shows him at his best.

Not sure why they didn't choose the Rondo. I've got that recording too and it's great. Possibly they didn't have it?
I didn't work on their Bellison release (for Summit or Michele - I work with both independantly), though the picture of Michele, Kalman and Mehta for Michele's Birthday celebration in the CD liner I edited the picture that they used in the CD.
Many of the pieces with Kalman playing were released on Kalman's Jewish Music CD (I had that on mp3.com as an album).
Really good CD, highly recommended.
