I was there a couple of years ago for two weeks for the Andre Moisan's class. The place is wonderful, amazing site in the middle of the forest. Food is bad, and I thing this is at every summer festival. Concerts are regularly good, but sometimes not at all. Collaborative pianist are soooo good, they can play anything, even at first sight (ask for Francis Perron, he is the best, say hello please). You can do chamber music with lot of students of very high level at the evenings (you can borrow anything at the library). And I personally recommend you to attend other masterclasses, a couple of violin and cello teachers are one of the best in the world.

Which classes are you attending?

I am attending the clarinet masterclasses, with Guy Yehuda. And I was also hoping to get involved with some chamber music groups.

Just make some friends at the cafeteria and get some music at the library... there will be lot of people wanting to make chamber music, then any of the teachers can coach you. I was doing Brahms-Beethoven trios, Mozart trio, and a lot of wind octets.

One more quick question, did you find the masterclasses very informative? Was it alot of playing or more of a lecture style? I want to get a grasp of what I am in for. :)

I was there a few years ago, too. It is a great program. You have permission to go to any class of any instrument. I spent all my free time in cello and piano classes and I learned a lot from it. Don't worry about practice so much for those two weeks, but go to every class of every instrument you can and write it all down. You will be glad you did.
... but yes, the food can be quite bad.

About the masterclasses, it depends, ever, of the teacher. I found them very musical, lot of playing. There will be also a couple of lectures about career skills and other topics by some of the teachers.
