 Sore Lip Reaction?
Author: ErinBeaudreau

Just recently I have been experiencing some discomfort on the inside of both my upper and lower lips when I play. They almost feel slightly swollen and burn after a long practice session. I have been playing for over 12 years and have never had this happen before. I've had the inside lower lip be sore from too much pressure from the lower teeth caused by biting, but this is a very different sensation; much more like a rash of some sort. I wonder if it is even possible to have a reaction to a reed or if something else is going on. They feel especially sensitive, but begin to feel better during the 24 hours or so between practice sessions. I am not sure. I can still play just fine, however it is bothersome. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
