I am a teacher and know a good bit about clarinet brands, but for the life of me have not heard of some of the brands (or models) listed below. A parent of one of my band students called me today asking about them and I know nothing about them:
"Jean Baptiste" brand wooden clarinet
"Andre Paris" brand wooden clarinet
Buffet model E45 wooden clarinet
Any in-put would be greatly appreciated.

Hopefully Mark will look these up soon in his new reference book. While it has information on companies, it doesn't have any ratings on the models. However, I have seen the first two names that you list pop up a couple of times on the eBay auction. There have been a lot of small clarinet makers come and go over the decades. Some were good and some were not. Unfortunately with most of the brands being rather obscure, it is unlikely that you can find information that will tell you the caliber of instruments made by such companies.
Since Buffet is well known, perhaps one of the others who post here will have heard of an E45.

The Buffet E45 seems to be the equivalent of the current E11/E12. Maybe ten years ago or so, Buffet changed from the numbering system R13/C12/E45/E11/B12 to the current R13/E13/E12/E11/B12 system for their primary models. I don't know exactly when the change took place, but I have a C12 that's 12 or 13 years old. In a pamphlet describing the instruments from the older system, the E45 was listed as an intermediate model wooden horn. The E11 was described as a wooden horn for beginners.
