Hi
Does anyone know anything about a plastic Noblet? I've only seen/heard Noblet clarinets made of wood but now I see a Noblet Paris clarinet made of plastic. The case is the same as (some?) Vito clarinets so maybe it has some connection to USA made Leblanc/Vito (at least I think Vitos were made in USA?). Maybe it is mostly the same as a Vito?
Thanks!

And weren't there some wooden Vitos?
I seem to remember once seeing a wooden-bodied Vito clarinet with a plastic barrel and bell - the bell having the D-section metal bell ring instead of the V-section one (or more like '>-section' if there was such a letter as '>') - as seen on Normandy/Noblet/Leblancs.

There were some hard rubber Noblets made; I had one, but it was not in playable condition. I can't tell you much about it since I don't have it anymore. It looked exactly like the wood ones except for the body material. It was pretty old, maybe 1940's or 50's.

"It was pretty old, maybe 1940's or 50's." I had a wood bodied clarinet with plastic barrel and bell in that era. As I recall it was named an Andre Ruelan but my recollection could be all wet since I've never encountered that name since.

Have an ebonite (hard rubber) Noblet in for overhaul. Ser No is A39xxx which puts it about 1974. Made in France and looks very similar to earlier wood examples I have worked on although lower joints keywork looks a bit 'cheaper' i.e. LH E/B and F#/C# levers have separate touchpieces silver-soldered to the arms etc.
Logo us definitely Noblet not Normany.
Won't know how it sounds until work done.

Thanks.
I also managed to find some information from other sources, and can post it if anyone is interested.
