That is only and I say only for storage as it is much too dry for an active reed. You can tell that the pack is a real one (real as it actually works...) by it having a couple of crystals in the pack and over time after the box is opened it will harden. Also a real one does have the humidity % labeled on it like the ones which are the %73, etc. higher active reed usage ones. Lately I have been seeing the real packs instead of packs which to me were only filled with water - they never, ever, ever harden nor got any crystals in them. So they were (to me) dummy packs. Rico hasn't commented on that and it's only my observation though I have packs from last july that haven't changed at all since.... A real vitalizer pack will expire after 60 days or so and harden. Either way, I'd throw it out after opening the box as it won't do you any good after the box is open. btw, it's Reserve, not Reverse though maybe I'll suggest that line http://www.SkypeClarinetLessons.com
