 clarinet & saxophone ensemble music?
Author: packrat

I was asked to organize and select some music for the clarinet and saxophone sections in our community band. Our next concert will include ensemble music. I can find music for clarinet ensembles and music for sax ensembles, but can anyone recommend any music for a mixed ensemble of Bb clarinets, alto (2) , and tenor sax? I've not had any luck so far and I thought perhaps some of you have played something that you could recommend.

Help!!

Thanks,

Becky

Whoops, forgot to mention I need something grade 2-4.

Were I you, I would look for some clarinet choir music. Put the altos on the Eb alto clarinet part and the tenor on the bass clarinet part.

If you have several clarinets you might actually have a decent balance of through the ensemble even if you don't have a homogenous sound.

I don't know if this'll help, but there's a clarinet and sax ensemble from Belgium called Concertino:

Maybe you could contact them through their web site and ask if they can offer any help.

There is also the: East Anglia Single Reed Choir from the UK

They may be able to help you out or check out their repertoire list.

You appear to be lacking any bass-clef-range instruments (bass/contra clarinets or bari sax). If that's the case, you might have trouble finding something that will work without the bass line. You might have to do your own arrangement, which might not be such a bad thing.
