My teacher lent me a recording of Dr. Charles West (VCU). Truly impressive playing and just a wonderful sound to listen to. The CD I've got is called Treasures for Clarnet and Piano, Wilson Audiophile-1991.

Chuck is a wonderful guy and a great teacher (not to mention his playing!).

Among the many gigs on his dance card he directs the Youth Orchestra of Charlottesville Albemarle. I direct the clarinet ensemble within the YOCA organization.

I believe he told me that he's going to direct the general clarinet ensemble at ClarinetFest this year. He's also performing that weekend, but I haven't asked him what he's going to perform.

Glin, you might give send him an email if you would like to take a lesson...he teaches in Richmond but he now lives closer to you than you would think.
