Did anyone see the Rhapsody in Blue performed at the 2008 Grammy’s with Lang Lang and Herbie Hancock? I just saw it on TV and on the internet. I'm interested as to who the clarinetist is, he sounded pretty good IMO.

That is Gary Gray playing. He's principal of Los Angeles Chamber orchestra, teaches at UCLA, and is probably heard on more movie soundtracks than any other player out there. Fabulous player and very nice guy.

And to think... I thought that I was the only clarinetist watching the Grammy's that freaked out when they played Rhapsody in Blue. =]
