Cho -

Tom is quite willing to talk about his mouthpieces and how to play on them. Sign go to his website (listed on Sneezy) and ask.

He says (and I agree) that a relatively close tip opening gives the best "classical" sound, but that this design is much more picky about reeds than more open designs. That is, the margin for error is smaller in balancing the reed, left to right, and tapering it, top to bottom.

Tom also has some unusual and interesting ideas about embouchure. These are all explained on his website, which you should read from top to bottom.

Best regards.

Ken Shaw

FYI--Tom plays double-lip embrouchure which needs a closer tip-opening. For me, his personal mps have a great sound, but are a bit "stuffy" as I use a "modified" conventional embrouchure and require a slightly more open tip. I think he will custom his mp to your requirements if you are willing to send it back and forth a bit.. Good luck.
