Stick some thin paper between the ring and the wood until the ring feels tighter. And definitely use a room or case humidifier at about 40-50 %. One of my rings is loose too, on the middle joint of my 1-year-old Bb.

A quick and tasy fix that's always worked for me is keeping orange peel in the case (closed, of course). Put fresh peel in every couple of days.

First of all I store my wood barrels in pharmaceutical bottles when they are not in use. If a ring gets loose I moisten a small bit of cotton ball and put it in the socket that has the loose ring with the barrel in the bottle. I feel certain the orange peel would work this way too. If you don't want to use the bottles wrap the barrel in plastic wrap.

I've tried most (maybe all, I don't want to say for sure) the methods described in the other thread and the suggestion from Gordon to glue the ring with shellac is the best without comparison IMO. That's how I fixed the loose ring I had every winter and since then (which was maybe a couple of years ago) I've never had any problems with loose rings, and I never use orange peel, humidifier, oiled the clarinet, etc.

The problem is not loose rings imo it is the shrinking wood. I would suggest humidifying the wood. Leave the rings...they are a good indicator of humidity in the wood and pads. On flute, dryness makes pads thinner...they hit in the front and vice versa for high humidity over long periods of time.
