Has anyone tried these German ligatures. They are made of very nice thick leather and come in black and natural and with or withouth adjustment screw. I saw once that Ted Lane did endourse them on his website but I don't see it anymore. Would like to know how they compare to the Vandoren leather ligatures and how the different versions works.

I made quickie US and Can patent searches, finding nothing. If anyone can search DE's , E P's or WIPO's, please do and report. TKS, Don

Many TKS, Ben, I should have done it also, got distracted. My [3 weeks in DE] language skills don't help me much, but it appears that patent applications have been filed in DE and others. Without other examples than shown, my "curbstone" opinion is that they would have a tough time getting by Rovner etc as prior art to have pats issued to them. I noted in the flags, that US was not shown ! Thots, anyone? Don

You will have to revert to British English...

Yeah i tested it. it's basically a leather ligature as opposed to rowvner's polyester? cloth. Although it did make the clarinet play even, it still doesn't compare to the bg super revelation ligature (dark, powerful projection) or the rico's harrison copy ligature (slightly bright but more balanced then the bg).
hope that helps

Thank you very much C2thew for your help. I'm currently playing a Standard BG ligature with the rubber rippon support. On the Vandoren Optimum and Leather ligatures I like the rippon inserts best but the BG Standard gives me a darker sound than eather of the Vandoren with the ribbon inserts but is still very free blowing(Unlike the soft leather inserts for the Vandoren Leather ligature which is equal as dark but not very free blowing).

I've tried them but very briefly. I find it blows more freely than the Rovner. I don't care for the one without adjustment screw, just too hard to get on and adjusted as you would like.
