I stumbled upon this while surfing through the iTunes store.
There is a video/audio set of Michele Gringas' "Clarinet Secrets" availlable for
iPod.These are in the form of 52 separate lessons for the advanced player.
Many of you will be familiar with the "Clarinet Secrets" book and CD which has some great advice about tonguing, circular breathing, chromatic scale practise ect. but the iPod download is free!
Go to iTunes and type clarinet in the search window-"Clarinet Secrets" will be under podcasts.
Enjoy!

Jamie,
I know nothing about itunes. Can these be played on a normal mp3 player?

Whoops! I forgot the video! Even my mp3 isn't that good.
Thanks anyway. I just found her lessons on the net.

Nowadays a lot of "normal" mp3 players will play video, too ...

These are very good. I checked them out a while ago. Also be sure to check out her book.

Excellent resource. One of the better books I have seen.

Here's a good definition of "clarinet sickness"
I was in Scottsdale Arizona this past October at a 5 star resort sitting at the edge of one of their 11 pools on a sunny gorgeous day
listening to Michele Gingras's Ipod downloads

I can't download any of the episodes - they're all "greyed out" and unclickable. What am I doing wrong?

As per playing them on a regular MP3 player, that's a problem if you have itunes. But it can be worked around. Typically, itunes likes to protect their formats so even if you bought it legitimately from them, you HAVE to have an ipod to play them. Because of the format. Well, to be able to play it on any regular mp3 player, you have to burn it to a CD as an audio CD, and them import the CD back into itunes or whatever program you want, but make sure it imports as an mp3.
It's a pain, but if I paid the money to watch/listen to it. I believe I shouldn't HAVE to own their particular brand of player to do so. It's like buying a sony dvd and finding it only plays on sony dvd players.

how do you download them all? My computer automatically downloaded the latest one by clicking subscribe, but it still doesn't download the rest of the files when i change the preferences in itunes to download all the podcasts.
do you have to sign in to do so?

Thanks Jamie! I actually learn quite a few new tricks. The "rocket speed tonguing" secret actually works! Although these podcasts were probably meant for people who own this book already hence her reference to a lot of stuff that you can only get in the book.
I was thinking of buying this book earlier but wasn't sure if it would be worthwhile, but now I really want to get it!

Sorry I can't offer any technical advice concerning iPods and iTunes.
I just downloaded it and it worked right away.
The book and CD are also worth getting.

On the podcast menu you have to click on the down arrow to the immediate left of the title of the podcast. So click on the arrow next to Clarinet Secrets (in your itunes podbcast menu) and you willl see the listing of all of her tracks. Most likely there aren't check marks next to all of the tracks (just the one that you downloaded already) so you need to check all of the tracks that you want to download.
Should work!
