Hey everyone,
I am looking for a cheap (read: inexpensive!) metronome specifically with a "tap" feature - that is to say, the option for me to push the button at a certain tempo and have the metronome tell me what exactly that tempo is.
I ask this board because I just went to a few local music stores and was unable to find in the assortment of metronomes they carried a metronome that had this function. My teacher has one so I know they're out there. The one he has, however, is huge and I don't want to lug something like that around if I don't have to.
Does anyone know of some particular models that carry this option?

First thing that comes to mind is a Boss DB-30. I'm sure the one your teacher has is probably a Dr. Beat 90 or 88. I have an 88; they're pretty nifty.

The Korg TM-40 comes with a tuner as well but has a tap feature and it is $32.
