Saw/heard it yesterday at Tulsa's Cinemark, GREAT/DIFFERENT. I had reviewed the [Grim_ !] story and the earlier opera version, and noted many diffs and discussed a bit with a great grandaughter, and our daughter. The music was superb, with fine conducting [much better than the Vienna !! IMHO]. Wondered if I saw [our] John Moses on cls ? My only complaint was the "dark" viewing with my fading eyesight, but the close-ups were fine, better than front-row viewing I believe. Comments? Don
Thanx, Mark, Don

I've seen every Met broadcast live at the movie theatre last season and it's almost as if I were there! I had to miss this one though...
Have you seen their broadcast of Eugene Onegin? Like in every aria there's a huge clarinet solo, and they're marvelously played by Anthony McGill. They have some of the finest musicians in that orchestra..
And yes, the close ups, especially of the orchestra are great, you probably can't get that close in the theatre unless you had binoculars. But above all, it's great that they're broadcasting opera done by a fantastic opera company to people all over the world, especially to communities that lack this sort of art.

We saw this yesterday in Bakersfield, California. What a treat! I had never listened to H & G. And I'd not yet seen this kind of presentation, either. I hope to go to most of these. It doesn't seem to be advertised much, and it doesn't seem that the theater management knows exactly what it is. I hope all this grows.

The met are now, finally, broadcasting into select Australia cinemas ... not before time!
Without music, the world would be grey, very grey.

Nice to hear good things about it. I'm looking forward to seeing it at the Met next week!
