Steve
you are not alone........I, too, noticed this just yesterday (friday) when I went to the Buffet site . I intended to look at the bore specs for my Vintage A and several Bb's.
I phoned Buffet but they were already gone for the weekend.
I then phoned a major mail order dealer and they were not aware of it being discontinued. In fact, it was on the revised price list as of July 07.
Monday, I will call Bruce.
I do know that at one time and it's repeated, the Buffet site was somewhat of a mess. S/N's were unavailable or incorrect (and still are), not all artists were listed, etc.
regards

Aside from its usage with respect to wine and grapes it is questionable what meaning it has. it's possible that Buffet decided it's meaning with respect to a line of clarinets was misleading.

I really like the Vintage line, and own one in key of A.
I wish that they used a different name for the model.....it gets confusing.
Maybe they should have called it Shiraz or Merlot?

Here in NZ (where they don't stock the Vintage model) there is a teacher who buys and sells, and describes 1970s/1980s Buffet R13s as "Vintage R13s" which is slightly annoying.
I really like this model- and in fact have liked the Vintage clarinets i've tried more than the Tosca. From past experience i'd say my ideal A clarinet would be a Vintage A.

sweet vintage or aka: golden age
