Any thoughts?
Could someone compare the facing to other clarinet mpcs?
I have a gregory smith 1+...is the selmer more or less open?
I think the smith is a medium/closed as opposed to a strict medium, which the selmer is advertised as.
Would appreciate some help.
Thanks!

Is your Sel 3 glass relatively recent, or very old? I have a couple of oldies, [Clarions], refaced I believe, from back in the 1930 -50s, which I assume were actually made by O'Brien, possibly? the only early glass mp maker, at least in US, also a couple of O'B's, I like the glasses. O'Brien used the facing numbers 1-5, some with an S [for short], for "close to open" designation. Sel's were diff, I believe. Make a Search here for lots of info, Luck, Don

It's a new one I'm considering purchasing from a bidding site.
Made in Italy (probably by Pomerico for Selmer).
I don't like getting mouthpieces or instruments without actually playing them first, but if it's affordable enough I'm willing to try.
Got a beautiful HS** faced by a well known contributor here...just fantastic workmanship...but for the life of me couldn't get it to work with my embouchure.
I've never tried crystal, and I'm worried that a #3 will be too open, much like the HS**.

My most recent Pomarico is for my alto cl, its a 3 [mellow] and it [for me] is superb with my Selmer B series A C, better than the one best H R mp I have ever found. I corresponded by EM with Riccardo and suggest you might also, Good luck, Don
