I am using Mitchell Lurie's with my Morgan RM10 that I have been using for a few months. However I think my sound could be a bit darker.
I have tried Vandoren Traditionals but they were brighter than the Lurie's.
For those that use Morgans what reeds do you use?

I've not used an RM10 but I play on an RM15 and use Vandoren V12 #4's with pleasing results.

Thanks. Have you tried any other Vandoren reeds? I'm wondering which one is the darkest.
Other reeds I'm considering are Vandoren Black Master and Gonzalez FOF.

I haven't tried the Black Masters with my mouthpiece. I have, however, tried Gonzalez FOF. I generally liked the response of the reed but the tip seemed a little thin to me...made the notes above the staff sound a little wild. That may just be the reed itself and have nothing to do with the mouthpiece it's used with.
I haven't really been experimenting with reeds lately, as I've settled on the V12s.

Ralph spoke very highly of Alexander Superial and recommended them to me. I have been very pleased with them and find them quite consistent.

Zonda 3.5 with RM-15 is quite popular here in my country. Maybe RM-10 will require Zonda 4?
But from personal experience, Zonda reeds seem to die quite fast.

I believe my teacher uses a Morgan mouthpiece with Rico Grand Concert Thick Blank reeds, probably a 4.5 or 5. don't know which facing design he has, though. Of Vandorens, the V12s would probably be your best bet. The black and white master reeds are designed more for European style mouthpieces, I think.

In conversations I had with Ralph Morgan he spoke highly about Black Master and Alexander reeds. I used Black Master for about a year and had good results with the reeds on RM10, RM15, and RM28 pieces. Then, I switched to Alexander Classique reeds and liked them very much. Classique is the only Alexander reed that I liked. I tried the DC and Superial versions and wasn't happy. I also think that FOF is a good reed to try on a Morgan. My personal preference is to use a thick-cut reed.
On the downside, it's been my experience that Legere reeds do not work well on Morgan clarinet mouthpiece facings. Whereas, the same Legere reeds have a stunningly beautiful sound on Walter Grabner's mouthpieces.
Personally, it's my opinion that the old trial & error method is the best way to find which reeds give you the best results on a Morgan.
