Mine was okay. I keep getting panic attacks from it though (not sure if the flu I got at the beginning was actually one of the panic attacks or not). I don't think I'll do it next year. For some reason this only happens with marching band.

We had some fun tunes...we did Copacabana for one show, and southern rock for the other (Jesus is just alright, Sweet home alabama, freebird). The drill wasn't too hard except for some follow-the-leader sets, and some parts I really had to kind of crouch to make the whole distance (or in one case, avoid a trombone's slider). Our university doesn't compete, though we did do some exhibitions. Our director said "we're not competing, but really we are competing." I was like, will you make up your mind?! Most of the time we were at football games...and each day the weather was hot, and there were few clouds. I was nearly dead at the end of them.

There were some ridiculous times...like one day the director was constantly having us meet just to tell us to meet again later, because the rival football team was late. Which caused me to have my worst panic attack of the season, at the end of the third meeting, and I had to be sent home. I don't know why the director has to be so stubborn and jump over so many obstacles just to make an appearance at a game (it was also raining hard and he kept changing our attire for the day). Or why he doesn't just send us emails.

One of my favorite times was an exhibition moved inside a high school gym due to severe winds + wind chill. I got to see people dancing to the tunes. That was fun. It was quite loud in there though.

Overall it was kind of an interesting experience, but I don't think I'm going to put up with it again.

...season?

Just two this year. In pitch blackness and temperatures around 5°C. The second time we even got some drizzle rain.

't was fun, though. :-)

Our seasons still going, as my high school is ranked in the Top 5 in division 3A in SCSBOA. We have a really cool field show this year, featuring the music of Bernard Herman; including music from Alfred Hitchcock movies such as Vertigo and North by Northwest.

My Setup:
R13 Clarinet (Ridenour Lyrique as my backup/marching instrument)
Walter Grabner K11 mouthpiece
Rico Reserve 3.5's
Bonade ligature

my season was pretty awesome.we got a new and more enthusiastic band director. we got new uniforms from stanbury too. we also started competing. our first competition in four years in the MICCA marching band competitions.

our team also made it to the playoffs but lost by 3 points. oh, well maybe next year.

Ours was too long, but over now - I'm not going to march again. I personally don't like it, but I know it's enjoyable to a lot of people. I'm just glad concert season finally begins!
