 Old Albert System Clarinets
Author: Ben Haass

My father bought two very old Albert system Clarinets for
me (a Bb and an A) at a junk store for $10. He thought I would be interested because I play the clarinet.
The A says LAEBET Paris A. L. P
The Bb is harder to read but I think it says
Gunckel Paris I. P. B
Neither have serial numbers.
Can anyone tell me anything about these horns?

Ben - Beyond recognizing A [for A cl] and B [for Bb cl]and L P [for low pitch], and Gunkel for an 1890-1930? Fr maker, I cant help. You may need to go to "earlyclarinet@egroups.com" to ask for more help re: turn-of-century horns. Luck, Don
