What does your music stand double as? Mine has just turned into a handy dandy yarn skein holder so I can roll the yarn up into a ball for knitting...!

Cat toy holder.
Clothes rack.

One night long ago, I semi-awakened and wondered why a moose was in my college dorm room. "Go away, moose," I mumbled. "You can't really be here." In the morning, I realized my groggy, uncorrected eyes had been staring at a large brown towel spread out to dry over my music stand.

I like te moose one... very nice! I second the hazardous obstacle and add extremely painful facial injury.
Those black metal stands that have a habit of malfunctioning after about a year have become the bane of my existence. My high school band room was full of those dangerous stands. One day in band, I tried to pull up my stand, and it woud not budge. Being the stubborn soul I am, I continued to tug on it, thinking it was simply stuck. I tugged and tugged until the entire top of the stand broke off and was, therefore, slammed directly into the bridge of my nose.
Bleeding profusely from the face, I trudged to the band office to be excused from class to go to the nurse. I walked into the office with the deadly piece of stand still in my hand, and my band director barely looked up, chuckled, and said "guess we'll have to get new stands soon." Then he saw my face bleeding all over the front of my shirt and screamed at me to get to the nurse NOW!
Well, it wasn't as bad as it could have been. The broken nose and the gash in my face were nearly healed before our next concert.

In schools, I frequently see bits of broken ones used to prop doors open.
Somebody once told me about bringing their stand into the kitchen when there isn't enough counter space for the cookbook.

Mine doubles as a reed breaker/chipper, and shortly after it then serves for a reason for me to curse.
