I'm going to be studying music in London this spring, and one of my classes involves attending various musical performances and analyzing/discussing the pieces performed, the performance itself, etc. We've been told to find three events we'd like to attend, and the professor in charge of the trip will try to schedule at least one of them and incorporate it into the curriculum. Any suggestions from the clarinet community? It can be either clarinet-related or not, it really doesn't matter (although I would like try to get to at least one clarinet performance while I'm over there).
The program runs from March 23 to June 4, 2008. So far, the only major clarinet soloist I have found who is performing in London during that time is Martin Frost. I have yet to scour the major London venues' and orchestras' schedules for clarinet concerts and/or other especially interesting concerts, so there may be a bunch out there I'm missing. Basically, if there's anything coming up that's a must-see, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks!
