Dear All,
I popped into Howarths today to do a little shopping and browsing and was delighted when having a look around to see Greg Smith mouthpieces now available in London. This is fabulous news to all of us on this side of the pond who have wanted to try them, now we can do so without worrying about the Royal Mail!
Just thought I would spread the good news with everyone.
Best Wishes,
Anthony Madderson

Anthony,
In the UK we've been trying Greg Smith MPs for a very long time indeed. For people who don't live near London, ordering the MPs from the USA via Royal Mail is far cheaper, safer and more convenient than the train. ;-)
The website is here: http://www.gregory-smith.com/
His MPs are fantastic. I have one and it makes the clarinet sing!
Steve
PS I'm so pleased that Howarths are selling them. With the current exchange rate, they must be really very affordable!

If only they sold them here in Australia, everyone decent I know has ordered there's from Greg himself and now I really want one!

Many thanks for the nice mention.
I usually work on a one-to-one basis with each of my clients.
But in this particular case, the clarinetists in the UK seemed to take to my style of mouthpiece...so much so that I decided to try an experimental break from my long-standing policy of not retailing my mouthpieces.

I didn't get to try out those Chicagos Greg... I'm afraid I might love one but can't afford it!
I've been on one of Greg's mouthpieces for about 5 years now I think, and I recently purchased another but went back to the old one. Just goes to show that he makes something you can use and love kinda forever (or at least a long time!)

I went into Howarths yesterday, all cashed up and ready to try some mouthpieces, and I left with a beautiful Kaspar Chicago model.
Just so everyone knows, they're charging between £160 and £185 for these (I left after spending closer to £200 anyway!) and they've still got about 60 left, so there's plenty to try.

I'd been using Greg Smith mpc (Old Chedeville 1++) for two years now - great mpc, certainly made my clarinet sing and project more (so I'd been told).
When you do try them out at Howarth, also try them out with the Buffet Chadash barrels.
