 Clarinet Glisando

Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew how and could explain how to do a glisando on the clarinet, you know, the glisando that you hear in the dixyland style and some swing I was looking to add it to my solos and playing in my swing band. I know that you slide your fingers off the holes but I cant seem to get it to work real good, is there something i need to do with my emboshure or toung or breathing? just asking, I think they use a glis on the clarinet in Rapsody in Blue.

Thanks,
any response would be much apreciated.

Do a search on the BBoard - this question comes up often.

Remember to search for glissando, though (two esses)

Once again I would like to remind everyone that "sliding" the fingers off of the keys has VERY little to do with performing a "gliss".
