Went to Mozart Requiem and Concerto performance last night. Incredibly expressive rendition by Jon Manasse. There was a nicely filled house despite the poor press coverage of the fact that Manasse was performing. Most were there for the Requiem probably, because of the heavy advertising of that and its current popular rediscovery. But the audience erupted at the conclusion of the Concerto. Lots of whooping and hollering and many curtain calls for him and Asst. Conductor Carolyn Kuan. I think the audience was introduced to a new appreciation of the Concerto.
By the way, see the calendar for this weekend if you are in the area.

I wish I could get that sound in my head. Peerless.
