 Rico B4 mouthpieces

Hi everyone,

I teach a few students while studying at the con here in Brisbane and have recently been told about the range of Rico clarinet mouthpieces- in particular the B4. I have not had any experience with these mouthpieces myself, but after enquiring about the price of them, if they are any good then they are a VERY affordable option for a mouthpiece upgrade for young students. Through a music shop I am able to get the B3, B5 and B7 rico mouthpieces but no one could shed light as to the apparent unavailability of the B4.

I was just wondering if anyone had had any experience with the B4 Rico mouthpiece and if anyone knows why it is seemingly unavailable on the Australian market?

Any information would be much appreciated :)

Cheers,

Jaz

I would stay completely away from them.......

Get a Fobes Debut or Genussa student, even the Hite Premiere - much, much better.

those mouthpieces are just like the stock mouthpieces that are turned out in most manufacturers, unfinished and really nothing sorts of experiencing a rich and full sound. an upgrade to a vandoren or even ones mentioned above would be suitable.

just a heads up

:) Thank you very much David and C2thew. I had thought as much, but I was kind of just hoping that I was wrong. Thank you for suggesting alternatives David... I have students already on the Hite and the Fobes but its always good to know of other possibilities.

Kindest regards,

Jasmin

I view the Vandoren Mouthpiece in the same light with the stock, "off the shelf" mouthpieces.
