HI, I just acquired an older Selmer clarinet with logos on upper, lower
joints, bell and barrel. It seems to be from Balanced Tone era, from case.
the serial number is M75XX with what looks like an added "B" on both joints.
Under the logo on upper joint it looks like it says 55 - second 5 is distinct, the first 5 somewhat blurry and worn.
It plays quite nice. Any info much appreciated.

It's a Model 55.
Were these made concurrently with the BT, or were they the in-between models between the BT and the CT?
I can only assume it's a belter! Not that I'm biased towards large bore Selmers or nuffin'...

Chris, for us UNinformed cl'ists across the pond, please interpret "a belter". Haberc, if you have a caliper, or your repairer prob. does, measure the U J"s bore top and bottom so we can help further. Luck, Don

Yeah, I mean it should play like a beauty (or 'a right belter').
