Hi Chris. I am trying to attach a picture of my old Bundy. Don't know if it will work as I have never done this before. Thanks.

an articulated Bundy .. pretty neat

i see it says sponsored by Selmer on the bell. So being a really old Bundy it's probably .. could it be .. a Paris model per say .. or an Alexandre (Selmer) model ??

what's the serial number ?

anyone know as I'm just speculating

Steve[speculator]Sklar- The ser #s are in the "below" Bundy thread. If we conclude that her "B" just means Bb, hers is prob. older than mine, but if its a "B series" cl in Selmer's #ing system, who knows? There are several ser# lists available on line, so a bit of research may be in order. Looking at your pic, Bonnie, my first thot was "its an early Pete Fountain", BUT, P F's favored cls are Leblancs, like my Dyn 2, with both the fork and the artic !, which I regard asan early P F. Just PM thots, Don

Thanx, Mark, Don

Hi Guys. Actually the B is the first part of the serial number. I don't think it means B flat. Is that what you are saying? Thanks for all your help.

Looks like a real find, Bonnie. I would be surprised if this was made in U.S.

Could this have been assembled (finished) in the US using French parts (as Yamaha did until recently)?

Certainly looks like a winner.

Fascinating picture! If it's not too much trouble, could someone please explain what these keys do?

• the C-ring
• the extra sliver on the lower joint

Like I wrote in the other thread, afaik, these were made by Selmer in France.

The extra ring for LH 3 is for playing Eb or Bb as xox|ooo instead of using the side key (xxo|Bb ooo), cross key (xx'o|ooo) or long Bb (xoo|xoo or xoo|oxo). The small vent key in between compensates for LH 3 being closed when playing Eb or Bb as xox|ooo. I've fitted one of these to my plastic Yamaha as I've been using the forked Bb on my Selmers for a long time, and old habits die hard. It can be fitted to any clarinet, though it does mean major surgery.

The extra touch for RH 2 is a C-Db, G-Ab, or altissimo E-F trill key. It duplicates the action of LH C#/G# key. As this key is articulated, a B-C# or F#-G# trill is easy by holding the C#/G# touch down and trilling with RH 2. And any tremolos with a C#/Db or G#/Ab and any RH notes are also made easier.
