Okay, I just need to know this for reasons i won't say here- but how long to you typically leave your clarinet assembled?

Only when I'm playing it! After which it is taken apart, cleaned (in and out) and the corks greased.

This has been discussed in the past. Do a search in the archieves. In my region of the country (Texas Gulf Coast) it is NOT a good thing to leave the clarinet assembled unless actively practicing or performing due to the high humidity. Things tend to get "stuck".

I never leave mine together, even if I plan to use it an hour later. The water that gathers in the tenon sockets tends to soak in and cause swelling and water in the bore will tend to dry out leaving a hard scum over time that isn't easy to get out sometimes. Then there's the fungi. If I want to some sporatic playing during the day I sometimes use one of my old silver horns.
