The Saint-Saens Tarantella goes like the wind and has to be tossed off with apparent ease. That can be done on the A clarinet, but on the Bb, it's probably not possible unless you're Stanley Drucker or Charles Neidich. Robert Williman, in his wonderful (and, alas, OOP) book The Clarinet and Clarinet Playing says the piece really can't be done with the necessary nonchalance on the Bb.
Buy, borrow or rent (do not steal) an A clarinet.
