I am looking for a transcription for Bb clarinet for Tarantella, Op.6. for Flute, Clarinet, and Piano by Camille Sain-Saens. All I can find is for "A" clarinet, and I currently do not own one-but must perform this later this year. Also, where might I find a good recording? Thanks!

The Saint-Saens Tarantella goes like the wind and has to be tossed off with apparent ease. That can be done on the A clarinet, but on the Bb, it's probably not possible unless you're Stanley Drucker or Charles Neidich. Robert Williman, in his wonderful (and, alas, OOP) book The Clarinet and Clarinet Playing says the piece really can't be done with the necessary nonchalance on the Bb.
Buy, borrow or rent (do not steal) an A clarinet.

Alternatively, you could transpose the flute and piano parts up half a step; that would allow you to use your Bb clarinet with the original part. I don't know how your colleagues would feel about that, though.

Muncy Winds <www.muncywinds.com/> is (or used to be) in North Carolina. A call to them wouldn't hurt. At least they might be able to refer you to a rental place.
Is the North Carolina Symphony still extant? A call to one of the clarinetists, or perhaps to the North Carolina School of the Arts (again, if it still exists) could help.
The clarinet teacher at any university or college could give you a steer.
