Bruch Concerto for Clarinet and Viola
Author: classicalguss

Hello, all. I am looking to find the Orchestral and solo parts to the Bruch Op 88 Double Concerto. I have really searched the net and have come up empty. I'll be performing this in March, so there isn't a terrible rush, but the Conductor is starting to worry. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks much,

Have the librarian start now.

Orchestra parts are on rental only from Schott (it was published by Simrock; not all the Simrock catalog is online at Schott) - Boosey in the U.S. handles the Schott cataolg.

Scoring: 2.2(II doubles EH).2.2-4.2.0.0-timp-strings

Hi Roy,

Where are you performing? - I'd love to see your performance.

I was 2nd Clarinet in the Mozart/Eybler Requiem with the Arcadian Chorale this past spring.

If you need to work on the solo parts sooner, they're available with a piano reduction in a Simrock edition (produced by Boosey & Hawkes).

Hi there (I can't remember your name (CRS). I'll be perfoming the Bruch with Dorothy Sobieski on March 30, 2008 at 3:00 at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank. The website for the orchestra is: www.monsym.org for anyone interested.

So---did you keep that Genussa mouthpiece? I thought you sounded lovely on it.
Take care,
R

I'm sure I'll get my head bitten off several times for this, but here goes anyway.

If you have a Finale expert on hand, you might be able to make use of what you'll find here.

Hi Roy,

My name is Jen Karas - I play with Lyn Lewis in Colts Neck to refresh your memory.

Yes, I kept the mouthpiece - thank you for the kind words. It's surprisingly versatile too - I've even been able to pull a bit of Klezmer out of it when I played Fiddler on the Roof at Count Basie in July.

I look forward to your concert!
