I'm not familiar with this player who is apparently into free jazz and klezmer.
"The irrepressible Perry Robinson and his clarinet are in town.
Sunday the 16th, jam session at the Reading Gaol Pub (65th St and 5th Ave NW) from 3:30-7:00. Musicians, bring your axes and join us!"
I presume he is hosting the jam. I'm wondering whether his jam session is going to the exclusive or inclusive kind. Does anyone have any ideas as to what it might be like?

Well, I met him about 30 years ago in NYC and had heard him interviewed on the Les Davis jazz program (WBAI-FM) a dozen years before that (he was playing an old Selmer with covered tone holes at the time). I had a record of his, Funk Dumpling (on Savoy). It was pretty mainstream but free jazz was his thing when I met him — he was an open, friendly guy back then and my guess would be that the jam session would be on the inclusive end of the scale.

I wouldn't miss an opportunity to hear him play.

Ok, great. Thanks.
Hmmm. Klezmer and Free Jazz. I'll expect there'll be a pretty eclectic audience there.
