When did the Selmer 10Gs cease production?

Well since my original post was deleted, my questions still aren't answered. But I digress.

I was wondering when Selmer stopped producing the 10G? I know the earlier production models were hand tuned but were the latter models revised further? The reason I ask is because when I googled "Selmer 10G" the image search showed a 10G with an extra part. I've attached a picture of the part and boxed it in red.

Thanks!

The 10G was discontinued fairly recently, around the time the Artys and Odyssee came on the market.

That overlever replaces the crows foot for the E/B-F/C connection and has an adjusting screw on it (as B&H 1010, Marigaux RS Symphonie, Howarth S1 clarinets have), though there's still a half crows foot for the F#/C#-F/C key link.

Not that recently.

Last production date (memory only) was around 1992. The Recital was being promoted by Selmer as the great instrument and the 10G was backburnered. At least that's how the advertisements seemed.

E Series was the last series made yes?

I've seen more recent 10G clarinets with a higher prefix than E.

Next time the 10G I do a yearly service on comes around I'll let you know the prefix, but it is higher than E.

What were the differences between the Series 10 and the 10G? I believe that the Series 10 differed from the Series Nine in having a smaller bore and differently shaped tone holes?

The 10G was Selmer's Buffet R13 - only better.

Well, Gigliotti tried really hard to make it better but I don't think that he came close. I studied with Tony for 7 years and saw various series of that instrument but never felt that it gave Buffet serious competition. The tone was quite inflexible as Clarinets went.

David:
I think both clarinets resembled the Buffet R13, but neither had the flexibilty of that instrument as I know it. I have owned both instruments and performed on them both. The 10 was for me at least, better intune than the G, but it seemed to have a smaller compass of sound.
The 10S, which I own is better than either, in pitch, flexibility and compass and it doesn't sound or feel like an R13. I'm not saying "not as good as", simply different. People who are looking for 10G clarinets because they think they are buying an R13 are in my opinion, mistaken.

I've owned and played several (Bartok link was on a 10G A back in 1987)
http://www.mytempo.com/bartok1.mp3 and a 10S in high school. The series varied quite a bit. I still have a Z series which is a very good instrument (was Peter Simenauer's ). I like that Clarinet, but not as much as my R-13 Prestige nor my Selmer Signature.

Was too bad that they didn't have the flexibility as they would have given Buffet much more of a run.

What do you mean by higher? Are M-series models known to exist for the 10G?

Thank you everyone for answering my questions. I guess Selmer did in fact give the 10G a "facelift."

I once owned a 10G A clarinet with a serial number beginning with M. It pre-dated the clarinets that incorporated the right hand adjustment screw and half crows foot. I believe Selmer revised the keywork around 1982 or 1983.
