 Buffet-Evette Ages VIA Serial #?
Author: Raphael T. Bernard

Can anyone tell me how to tell the age of a Buffet-Evette from the serial #? I have one that's A D29xxx(Master Model), one D30xx, and one D96xx. Thanks - you all are great!

I'm not sure about the other two, but your Master Model was manufactured in 1973 (I also have a 29,XXX series Master Model, and emailed Boosey & Hawkes to find out the age; that's where I got my info). Just a VERY rough guess, but your other two are probably late 50s or early 60s. Your best bet would be to email B&H (you can get their email address from their website) and ask them directly. There are Buffet serial number lists on this site, but they don't include the numbers for the Evette line of clarinets, unfortunately.
