A couple of days before I left for Europe, we took my sax in to get it a check up. I came back from Europe to recieve some bad news. After all of my hard work, I didn't make jazz band. The guy that did make bari is also a clarinet player, and I'm happy for him, I just wish we could have both made it (I would feel that way if I were the one that made it too, I mean, what jazz band couldn't use two baris?). At least I'm having fun with it, and unless something comes up, I'm planning on trying out for jazz band next year.

I just played a bari gig this afternoon. Next to lead alto, the bari part in the jazz ensemble is my favorite--real neat "honkin" parts that makes the whole band sound "bad." Keep working and you'll make it!!! But don't give up on the clarineting. Good luck.

A Japanese woodwind shop called Ishimori is famous for its repair tech. Some American Jazz big names come to Japan only to check his Saxes before recording or session in US.
I had my Selmer serie III sop checked up there. Marvelous!
The repair craftman said recent new Selmers is "rough" and need checking anyway before selling to customers.
Typical tampo defects is known by the vibration of the lowest two or three notes in case of Saxes.
