This is a great piece of music that John Novacek originially composed for violin and piano (I think within the past two and a half years?)
Manasse premiered it at Cabell Hall in Charlottesville, Va almost a year ago.
On the program as well was Brahms Eb major sonata, Weber Grand Duo, Kovacs Homage, and the finale was the Four Rags for Two Johns.
Needless to say the Rags were a real crowd pleaser, and Manasse and Nakamatsu were incredible!
Interestingly the program was in the opposite of chronological order, and all the "major" works were in the first half.
Manasse sat for the Brahms as well, and performed with a piece of red cloth (You could see that it said "Tosca" faintly on one corner) draped from the bottom of the desk. I never got around to asking him why...I presume it was to mask a sympathetic vibration?

Thanks for the website, I'll give it a listen once I download Real Media Player . Too bad I can't go back and listen to all the great performances that I missed before I found out about this website =P.
