 Bb Patricola

I'm a high school sophmore looking to upgrade to a pro horn. Patricola's seem very nice and the price is very good as well. Does anyone have any comments about their Bb horn? I have read comments that some people find them to be either too stuffy or bright. Does anyone have a good experience with the Bb? Also, what are some of the differences between the grenadilla or rosewood body? Are there any tonal differences? I'm also curious about the differences in price between a mail order company and an actual store. I assume it's more in the store, but by about how much, on average?

Thanks for any comments about any of this!
Kelly

It is usually cheaper by about 40%. If you buy the Buffet R-13 Retail from a local store you will spend around $3500
But if you buy it from the woodwind catolog you will only pay around $1800. www.wwandbw.com is hte website or 1-800-348-5003 is the phonenumber. Yes they do carry patricola clarinets. Hope this helps. If you need some info on how they play, you could talk to their customer service, adn I'm sure they can give you the ansewers that you are looking for! Hope this helps!
Sinerely,
Stephen

My opinion? A clarinet is a clarinet, and people shouldn't have to switch clarinets unless the cost of fixing theirs exceeds the cost of getting a new one.

What kind of a comment is that, Bob!

That's not true. There is a big difference between a pro and beginner instrument. There is also a big difference between brands. I went to camp and test played some clarinets for fun and found out that I liked the pro model better than the intermediate and both better than my intermediate Leblanc. I also found out that I'm going Buffet now.
