 Vandoren Mouthpieces

Does anyone know if the different Vandoren mouthpieces are different in more than just width of tip opening and length of facing? For example, is the baffle of an M15 shaped differently than an M13Lyre, or the rails of an M30 wider or thinner than that of a B40? Thank you!

Yes, for example:

* B40 has a wide tip rail - makes it resistant with a dark sound

* B45 dot has an enlarged chamber. Vandoren say this makes a 'big sound'. Personally I agree, and would add that for me it makes it less resistant in exchange for a slight tendency to overblow (worth it though!) [Disclaimer: this is what I play!]

Check it out on the vandoren website, i remember there was a pretty detailed comparison diagram but dont know if it was all dimensions or not. Im sure there must be past threads about this as well, do a forum search on this bboard. 2E
