I wonder if that means the 1985 "Artie Shaw - time is all you've got" movie will finally become available too? Shaw's fans would enjoy seeing him listening to his old recordings, etc.

Actually Scarlet was cut off without a penny. It was Suellen who got the loot.

Read your own links carefully, David. Keyes played Scarlett's sister, Suellen. Vivian Leigh played Scarlett.
Best regards,

I guess the real question is.... when will all of Artie Shaw's clarinet items
be up for auction?!?..I'll be sure to give ebay a daily check for any of his stuff.

Aequore,
The contents of Artie's home were auctioned off a long time ago, and some of his clarinets were given to the Smithsonian before he died. Or were you thinking of something different?

Several clarinets purportedly owned and played by Artie were auctioned off on ebay within the past year and a half. Having written that, I can only report to you that this venue is a labyrinth infested with every creature inhabiting the Earth and all the planets, the good, the bad, and the ugly, and the very bad. Truth is rare, in fact it would be a great item to place for sale. Might bring in about as much as a purported Barry Bonds Home Run ball.
But when he played, Artie hit a homerun every time.

''except for clarinet players of course''... I have to admit there are some
rude and unbearable clarinet players out there. They are not your usual good music ''samaritan''... But of course within this post we fall in the good category... right, right,!
