I wanted to audition for a youth symphony this year. Any one know of any in IL? Or how to do research to find out? I did do several internet searches but I keep getting orchestras out of the US.
Thanks,
Monica

Our local youth symphony always advertises its auditions in a give-away local paper... perhaps your area has one of these.

When I was in the Houston Youth Symphony (many years ago), They sent flyers to all the public and private school band directors, plus all the known clarinet instructors. Also check the bulletin board at the local colleges. They post information like this for kids taking lessons there.

Monica, I don't know where in Illinois you live but there is a Youth Symphony in Peoria. Unforntunately their auditions for next season were last May.
Good Luck in your search -Cathy
