"New" Model Spotted - Penzel-Mueller Soloist
Author: Fred

I recently examined a Penzel-Mueller Soloist Bb clarinet - a model that I had not heard of before and could find no reference to on the web. It was wooden and the keywork seemed OK, but it needed some attention to the LH keys. It was also unplayable due to some leaks . . . unless squeeks count. The Soloist designation was a slant signature above the P-M logo and was found on the barrel, upper joint, and bell. Does anyone know anything about this model?

Interesting . . . I've now spotted a second P-M Soloist for sale. Maybe they salvaged some from the Atocha !!
